About us
The team behind Wayfinder
Wayfinder was created by an international group of resilience experts, from Stockholm Resilience Centre, Resilience Alliance and the Australian Resilience Centre, committed to translating resilience science into practical approaches for navigating towards a more sustainable, safe and just future. For the past 15 years, we have been working with resilience assessment approaches, in a variety of contexts around the world.
In 2016 we saw an opportunity to create a new type of resilience-based process for navigating towards sustainability in the Anthropocene, and started the development of Wayfinder as part of the GRAID programme at SRC. Over the following two years we developed the content on this platform in a collaborative process that involved small brainstorming workshops between core team members, a pilot project in Senegal, and larger practitioner workshops that we organized to draw out the latest insights from the resilience practice frontier. Wayfinder was launched on September 12th, 2018.
